Those half-way stop

I always dreaded the idea of having meals at half-way stops, except when I was in Japan or Korea and now add Taiwan to that list as well.

Spick and span, well-maintained is what long journeymen need to look forward to a half-stop.
 

中途休息站

一向来都对长途的中途站没什么好感， 除非是在日本或在韩国，现在多加一个 - 台湾。

说到底，对一个长途跋涉的旅者来说，一个环境舒适，干净的中途站，怎么说都是他们所向往地的休息去处。

KenTing/Hengchun Peninsula
With not much sight-seeing on 4th day, the group, with the accompany of DJ Dennis, headed to the most southern part of Taiwan - Hengchun Peninsula.

The only sight-seeing activity of the day is to witness a natural phenomenon at a site called "Chu-Huo" (literally means "spilt fire" in Mandarin).

Owning to its unique locality and surrounding, it was told that fire will "spit" from the earth once start digging.

垦丁/恒春半岛
在崇庆的陪同下,大伙望台湾的最南端-恒春半岛出发.

一路上沿着海岸线,来到一个叫"出火"的地方.

故名肆意,由于地质的关系,这里的土地只要一挖,就会自然而然地茆出火来!

The best time to visit this part of Taiwan is during the summer time - TAKE NOTE!!

夏季是最适合来垦丁游玩地，别忘了喔！！

National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium
It's inevitable that whenever we come to any place near the sea, a visit to an aquarium is always part of the itinerary.

This splendid establishment, near the town of Hengchun ultilized the effect of 3D and multi-media technology, to give the visitors the deeper insights on how these sea creatures survive in the ever-changing environment.

海生馆
只要沿海地带去一去水族馆这类的活动不可少.

座落在台湾海峡旁的国立海洋生物博物馆,就是望高雄前的一个景点.

充分利用多媒体影像的技术,海生馆确实让大家欣赏,了解到海底生物的生态.
 

Kaoshiung
It was the D-day eve when we reached Kaoshiung, the second largest city of Taiwan, on Good Friday.

It was not called "Kaoshiung" in the early days but a rather unpleasant name called "Ta-Kow" (meaning "Beat the Dog" in local dialect) till the Japanese governor renamed as it is now during their rule in last century.

It coincided with the final large scale KMT rally, prior the ballot day, held at the Dream Mall, the main shopping mall of the city.

高雄
大伙在322的前一天来到南台湾的大城市-高雄.

第一个在高雄的去处是那里主要的购物商场-"梦时代",而吸引众多人到"梦时代"就是以吉蒂猫为主题的摩天轮.

很凑巧地遇到国民党在梦时代广场选举前的最后一次大型造势大会.

更兴奋的事,巧遇见到張震嶽在为这次造势晚会在采排!! (阿嶽说过他爸爸是国民党员,这也不奇怪啊...)

Love River
Love River was the next stop after the mall.

Was told it used to be called the "Smelly River", because of its horrible polluted condition.

It was during the term of Frank Hsieh, the then mayor of Kaoshiung, that continuing effort was made to beautify the river and turned to what it is now

爱河

爱(艾)河是高雄市主要的河流.

过去的爱河有个不雅的外号-"臭"河,就因为早期的爱河因重工业排废的污染废料而导致整个河川臭气曛天.

后来在谢长廷任市长时继续处理了这棘手的问题,让爱河改头换面成了高雄人休闲的好去出.
